How to add Astar/Shiden Network to Metamask

Step 1: Visit the PolkaEx dApp: https://app.polkaex.io/

Step 2: Connect your Metamask to PolkaEx;

Step 3: Click the network button, wait for the popup and click on Astar or Shiden to get the network added to your Metamask automatically;

Or you can add networks via the manual way by opening the Settings menu in your Metamask and clicking RPC to add a new network.

Use the network settings below to manually add Astar Network:

Network Name: Astar Network

New RPC URL: https://rpc.astar.network:8545

Chain ID: 592

Currency Symbol: ASTR

Block Explorer URL: https://blockscout.com/astar

Use the network settings below to manually add Shiden Network

Network Name: Shiden

New RPC URL: https://rpc.shiden.astar.network:8545

Chain ID: 336

Currency Symbol: SDN

Block Explorer URL: https://shiden.subscan.io

Note: We recommend always using Metamask on PC, even though PolkaEx is also compatible with smartphones.

How to withdraw ERC-20 tokens from centralised exchanges to Astar Network with Metamask?

We will use PKEX in this tutorial but the same process applies to USDT,USDC and ASTR.

Step1: Firstly, withdraw your tokens from the centralised exchange to your Metamask address on Ethereum mainnet;

Step2: Visit the cBridge dApp via (https://cbridge.celer.network/#/transfer) and connect your Metamask wallet;

Step3: Choose “Ethereum Mainnet” as sending(From) network and choose “Astar Network” as receiving(To) network;

Note: Sending PKEX, USDC and USDT from Ethereum mainnet to Astar Network is only available on cBridge now.

Step4: Choose PKEX in the token list and enter the amount you want to transfer;

Step5: Click “Transfer” and confirm the transaction.

Note: if you can’t find PKEX in the Ethereum network token list, click the button in red circle 2 times to refresh.

After the transaction is completed, you will need to switch to Astar Network to check the PKEX balance.

For assets already existing in Ethereum mainnet, start from Step2.

How to transfer tokens(ASTR/SDN) from Astar Network to Shiden Network or in reverse direction?

Step1: Visit the cBridge dApp via (https://cbridge.celer.network/#/transfer) and connect to your Metamask wallet;

Step3: Choose “Astar” as sending(From) network and choose “Shiden” as receiving(To) network;

Note: Sending PKEX, SDN between Astar and Shiden is only available on cBridge now.

Step4: Choose PKEX/SDN in the token list and enter the amount you want to transfer;

Step5: Click “Transfer” and confirm the transaction.

How to transfer Polkadot native token(SDN/ASTR) from centralised exchanges to Shiden Network/Astar Network with Metamask?

Please make sure you have installed a Polkadot.js wallet and opened your own account. (Click here to install if you haven’t already installed: https://polkadot.js.org/extension/)

Step1: Visit Astar Portal via (https://portal.astar.network/#/balance/wallet);

Step2: Connect to your Polkadot.js wallet, and send your tokens from centralised exchanges to this Native address shown in this page;

Note: SDN needs to be sent to the Native address under Shiden Network.

Step3: After the transaction, switch to Astar Network to check your ASTR balance;

Note: Switch to Shiden Network if you are checking SDN balance in this case.

Step4: Click transfer and fill out your Metamask address.

Note: After the transaction is completed, you will need to switch your Metamask to Astar Network to check the ASTR balance.

Or switch to Shiden Network to check SDN balance.

For assets already existing in Polkadot.js wallet, skip Step2.

How to transfer Polkadot native token(SDN/ASTR) from Shiden Network/Astar Network with Metamask to centralised exchanges?

We will take transferring ASTR from Astar Network to centralised exchanges as an example.

If you are transferring SDN from Shiden Network, please note to set your network to Shiden Network.

Step1: Visit Astar Portal via (https://portal.astar.network/#/balance/wallet) and connect to your Polkadot.js wallet;

Step2: Copy the EVM address as the receiving address;

Step3: Open your Metamask and transfer your token to the above EVM address;

Step4: After the transaction, refresh the page and you will see “Withdraw EVM Deposit” button, click;

Step5: Enter the amount you want to withdraw and click “Confirm”;

Note: Please remember to leave enough ASTR for gas fee or click faucet to get some.

Step6: Click Transfer and Enter your centralised exchange native address.

How to transfer tokens from Ethereum to Shiden/BSC/Polygon or in reverse direction?

Step1: Visit the Multichain dApp via (https://anyswap.exchange/#/bridge) and connect to your Metamask wallet;

Step2: Choose “Ethereum” as sending(From) network and choose “Shiden/BSC/Polygon” as receiving(To) network;

Note: Sending assets between Ethereum and Shiden/BSC/Polygon is only available on Multichain now.

Step3: Choose token in the token list and enter the amount you want to transfer;
